We are pleased to announce that DPS Employment Solutions, along with Texas Workforce Solutions will be providing a new program called “Inspire Transition”. “Inspire Transition” is a Career Readiness program available to all students ages 14-22 that have a disability and are employable. This program brings together the Vocational Rehab Counselor, the student, the local school district, the local business community, and the DPS Employment Solutions staff to create an optimal environment to provide training for students with disabilities, and to receive appropriate skills to acquire a desired job within their community. The “Inspire Transition” program addresses some of the following areas to help your child succeed: Independent Living (Personal hygiene, time management, cell phone etiquette, transportation, and proper social media behavior) Social/Interpersonal Skills (Communication, teamwork, decision making, conflict resolution, professionalism, and friendships) Work Readiness Skills (Resume writing, interviewing skills, job seeking skills, and workplace behavior) Your child may be eligible to receive these services from the TWC, along with other services, such as Career Exploration, Self-Advocacy, and work-based learning or college readiness.
